I try not to dissect films too much. If I'm entertained, then good enough for me. I was entertained by Prometheus. Sure, there are some holes, but overall, I thought it was imaginitive, well acted (Fassbender), and well filmed. Ridley Scott can do no wrong, as far as I'm concerned.

Why is alien engineering any more ridiculous an idea than creationism? I think it's a hell of a lot more plausible. I'm not saying I'm 100% convinced of the idea of an alien race engineering our DNA and planting us on this planet that was grown FOR us, but it makes A LOT more sense than the idea of a sky genie going "poof! There's a cow". "Poof! There's an elephant".

this is a serious question.. i know people that hear/feel god (and see postings about people's experiences), but i have not experienced this.
i have never heard anything audibly (or otherwise) nor "felt" anything inwardly.. i've prayed, read, quieted my thoughts, etc...but still nothing..

Because god(s) are just like the above examples. ALL fictional characters that don't exist.....Except maybe Bigfoot.

Trying to stay focused on a huge expense report. Not doing so well on the "focus" part.
why did the wts not try to settle this lawsuit before going to trial as they had so many times previously?
was it presumptiousness on the part of the society's lawyers and gb?
had this been settled it would have hardly caused a whimper.. it got me to thinking that although the verdict of $28 million is unheard of, it may actually further the wts to make their claims that they are the only true religion.. reason being- if the monetary award is overturned then they will say it was jehovahs will.
What really needs to happen here is that many, many more victims need to come forward, sue, and not settle out of court. I fear that this will become a "well, it only happened once" image in the public eye. The RAMPANT child abuse withing the Org needs to be made public.

I have no problem with wearing a tie. I am required to, most of the time for work. I love to collect them. One thing that came from being a Witness is being able to tie a double windsor with a perfect dimple.
